The adoption process is manned completely by volunteers and therefore, the timing of each adoption varies. 

 

Usually, the adoption process includes the following steps:

1. Submit an application on-line (Adoption Application tab) or via fax #888-800-9635.

2. The application is sent to the FLWR rescue agents to see who has the best fit for you and your family.

3. A rescue agent calls or emails you regarding your application and what you and your family are looking for.

4. A vet reference is done usually by phone.

5. A home check is usually performed and can just be a drive by.  We have volunteers throughout the state to perform home checks. 

6. An appointment is set for you to come and visit with the Weimaraner that is best suited for you and your family.  If you currently have a dog, it is best that you bring your dog to meet its potential playmate.

7. If the Weimaraner is ready to be adopted out, meaning all vet care is completed and you and your family are ready for the Weimaraner, then the Weim is adopted out.  If the Weim is not ready to be adopted but this is the Weim for you, a hold will be placed on the Weim until it’s ready to be released.

8. Adoption fees range from $250 to $400.  The fee depends on age.
