Adopt a Weimaraner

If you are interested in adopting one of our beautiful weims, please fill out our adoption application. Please take a few moments and completely fill out the application and hit SUBMIT and the application will be submitted to us via email.

You may also print out the application and fax it to us when completed to 888-800-9635, or submit the PDF via email.

The adoption application will be sent to all Foster Care Agents that currently have Weimaraners available for adoption. You should receive a phone call or email within 3 days. If you don not, please call me directly at 352-636-4676 as we may not have received your application.

Before Adopting...

Before getting the breed, it is a good idea to visit a breeder and see the dogs in person and make sure this is a family decision in getting the dog. Watch how they interact with you and each other. Talk to the breeder and make sure they will be there for you down the road. You never know what life will throw at you a divorce, new baby, a family death.

If you do not have a local Weimaraner breeder in your area, you may also want to look and see if you have a Weimaraner Meet Up group in your area. Do as much research on the breed as possible. This is a life long decision you and or your family is making.

Surrendering Your Weimaraner

We know it is a difficult decision to make regarding surrendering your Weimaraner. Whether it is due to financial circumstances, relocation for employment, health reasons, or life changes, it is a decision that is not made light hearted. Our organization is here to help in any way we can. It is very important for us to receive as much information about your Weimaraner as possible. The more we know about your Weim the easier it is for us to place them in a new home. Our Surrender Form asks several questions and we ask that you be as honest and complete as possible.

If you are able to keep your Weim while we find a new home for them, it would be a tremendous help to us as we are overflowing with Weims and our foster homes are full at this time. If not, we will begin looking for a foster home or kennel to board your Weim.

We also need a current picture of your Weim preferably with no humans in the picture. A face pose and a body pose would be great. It gives the potential adopter the chance to see the size of the Weim.

Volunteer Foster Care

We need Foster Homes! We are always looking for foster homes to help us save our gray kids. Our foster homes provide the gray kids with a home environment. They teach them house manners, let them know what itís like to be in a safe and loving environment. Many of our Weims come to us for the shelter and we have no information on their background. We have several that are found as strays and no nothing about them. The foster home helps the Weim get back on their feet and learns about them. They also help fix any problems we may find behavioral wise or medical. We need foster homes with no other dogs to bring in dogs from shelters to quarantine them. Many of our shelters have distemper, kennel cough and parvo floating around and the Weim needs to be quarantined for up to 2 weeks before bringing them into another home or kennel.
